jellyfin and subtitles

Post by Huey11 »

Hello,

I have subtitles on disk next to tv series. But I am not able to select them, I need to redownload a subtitle and then it is able to be selected and played. This is on my Fire TV sticks and iPads. Fire TV version 3.9-10.
I guess this is because the subtitle is then local to mrmc.

So my question is: is this by design or am I doing something wrong?

In the debug log I see entries like:
21:20:48.809 T:18446744071785908512 WARNING: CreateLoader - unsupported protocol(jellyfin) in jellyfin://tvshows/shows/aHR0cDovLzE5Mi4xNjguMTcyLjg6ODA5Ni9lbWJ5L1VzZXJzL2ViYTVjMDYwYzczYjRkNGQ5MmZhNDE3NGVmZGRiNjcyL0l0ZW1zP1BhcmVudElkPTM3MmI3NDQyNTc3Y2NiNjhjZmM0YWM4YjkzMTZlOTYwfCZYLU1lZGlhQnJvd3Nlci1Ub2tlbj1iODdkOTUzZDhmY2E0MjNlOTgzYjY0ZGExZWM4MDg5Ng==/VIDEO_TS.IFO

not sure this is relevant to the topic, but this seems relevant:

I have a debug log but the upload function will not do an upload...

Please tell me how to upload the log, if subtitles are indeed supposed to work...?

Regards

Edit: with plex service the (same) subtitles cán be chosen and played (but I rather avoid my plex server as it often tries to transcode even if not necessary with jellyfin)

Edit2: I have installed kodi with the Jellyfin plugin. configured it for plugin mode (default) so SMB shares etc are not needed, and the subtitles are picked up correctly.
So it should be possible and I probably have made a configuration error some item relating to the MrMC Jellyfin service? The question is what...?

Edit3: I managed to upload a debug.log: E42PF.log

Edit4: had switched to Plex, but guess newer version of Jellyfin made it work, so I can switch
back again
