Hey Guys,
Are there any plans to support native mode? (playing movies directly through NFS \ SMB even if Jellyfin is down.)
Thanks
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

Re: Native mode?
how would that work? via Jellyfin?
MrMC is basically that, native player for NFS/SMB shares... Jellyfin/plex/emby came in later

Re: Native mode?
Hey amet, thanks for the reply.
When installing Jellyfin addon via Kodi for example, you'll be asked to select Addon or Native. (added picture)
Addon will act the way you expect it to act, when playing a movie through Kodi, Kodi will talk with Jellyfin in order to fetch the location of the movie (I'm guessing).
Native will play the movie directly via NFS \ SMB. When adding a folder to Jellyfin you can also add its direct path for that pupose. (adding a picture, highlighted in blue)
The pros are Jellyfin Library management, movie wall etc while not being depended on Jellyfin when playing a movie.

Re: Native mode?
I am not familiar with native side of Jellyfin or how Kodi does it, but you can just add SMB folder as media source in MrMC and it would literally do the same thing.
We connect the Jellyfin to get all media and library content, if JF is not there we have no way of knowing where the files are as we don’t store any of that information in our database, our database is for MrMC library only.

Re: Native mode?
I see. In Kodi i'm familiar with two addons that use JellyFin. JellyFin and JellyCon.
Jellyfin fetches all the data and saves it locally while JellyCon acts more like a streaming addon which I'm guessing this is how you implemented it. In that case there is really no sense in adding Native Mode.
