My movie files are stored on an external hard drive connected via usb 3.0 to my Mac mini. I am able to "Add videos" by smb and able to scan the hard drive. However, I can't play any of my movies. The message "one or more items failed to play check the log file for details" always appears. I do not know where and how to check for log files in my apple tv 4.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

In system settings, smb client. There is a checkbox for libdsm. LibDSM is a new samba client that can handle smbX format which is used on OSX and Win10 boxes. The old samba client is libsmbclient, that is default unless you enable libdsm. The old smb client cannot handle smbX.
