Problems playing UHD bluray folder

I can't remember where we're at with this but I just got a new UHD bluray folder and tried to play it on my ipad. It starts stuttering, queues not filled up pretty much right away. I just tested an older UHD bluray folder and it stutters too.

But, I can play "that one big m2ts" with no problem.

All from the exact same drive, so no difference in drive speed or transfer/server protocol. :?

I already posted a log. tvOS and Shield play it fine. ipad plays back equally high bitrate single m2ts just fine. it's only UHD bluray folder that acts up it seems.

looks like you are running libsmbclient, can you switch to libdsm ?
