3. are you sure its not loaded, we have done tests here and it seems fine... debuglog when you load it please.
4. no, we cant edit plex database nor can we write to plex folders.
5. check your Plex server settings and default subtitle setup on the server. I have no issues at all and have not heard from others that use plex and external subtitles. My server has a default setup. make sure that you refresh your Plex library after you load the srt.... plex needs to know you added it

No, the external subtitle is .srt not .ass. I don't have .ass in that library.
And what about keymap custom, I can't get that to work.
