I also have a FireTV2, but I do not have such issues, at least not the scale you mention.
On "some" videos, after an hour or so of watching, the audio gets out of sync by aprox. 5s, which I managed to always fix with stopping the movie and starting again.
This describes a new problem on my Fire TV 4K. Noticed it first a couple of weeks ago. Here's info on the video playing when the issue occurs, from
