Deleting database directly to start fresh
So, I have MrMc installed on my Nvidia, with a Synology NAS holding all of my stuff. Our house WAN changed due to a new modem, so all of the IP addresses in the house changed as well. No problem, I just updated the IP to the location of my NAS, and then re-ran the database update. Except now, trying to clean the library up to get rid of the old duplicates is running like a slow hog, and freezing instead of actually cleaning the system up. I don't know why, I wouldn't think I could overload it, but in any event, it seems like it might be faster for me to delete the database itself and then just re-run a clean update to reload the library. Is that possible to do, or am I stuck uninstalling the app and redoing everything fresh?

Since you have a nas, maybe you should setup MySQL. That would be a new database and easy to modify in the future

Re: Deleting database directly to start fresh
I think this slowness/freezing during clean happens when the original shares are no longer available.
I think your issue is probably in this area?

my experience is its best to dump the database and start again (hopefully you exported library to speed up the process)

Re: Deleting database directly to start fresh
I finally got it to update, it only took....five hours? Six? I stopped counting after a while.
Though speaking of exporting, for some reason, I can't now. Used to be able to export xml easily, now it asks me for a place to save them, and then denies my access to the same folder I can watch my files from, so I don't know why that's happening.

OK it took 5-6 hours to complete. Did you try to clean again to see if its now speedy? Should tell us whether the entries for the old shares and media have really been cleaned or whether it all failed which is why it took so long.
