Scan at startup

Post by Moelikepie »

Hey everyone, I've just moved from KODI on Apple TV to MRMC and so far its been great! I have been searching the forum and couldn't find an answer to my problem. Any help appreciated

I can't seem to fully figure out the "Update Library on Startup" scanning. I have this enabled in the menu, and it works the first time I open MRMC. Then I'm finished watching, so my Apple TV will go to sleep and later that day I will open MRMC again - but the update scan doesn't run. It seems this is not considered a "start up" (as the app was open in the background), so the update is not triggered. I found that I have to close the app from App Switcher and then re-open to trigger the update scan. KODI would scan each time I open the app

In KODI there was also a "power option" on the home screen where I could "exit" the app, and then when I click the app again it would count as a "new" startup and so the Update Scan would be triggered.

Is there something I have missed or does anybody know a workaround?

Thanks

It works on startup, bringing MrMC back from background doesn’t qualify as startup.

Look for library update addon in the extension menu

We are not allowed to have “shutdown” button as per Apple guidelines.... you can double tap home button and swipe up to force slide the app.
