Hi all...I got a new apple tv 4K for my birthday from my brother in order to watch my tv shows and movies (mostly 4K HDR) over lan from my PC. I don't care about the sound quality cause I'm using headphones but I want to make sure that I get the best image quality for my C9 OLED. After some searching I found out that MrMC and Infuse are the two options for apple tv 4K and local media streaming. On Infuse's forum I came across the following thread:

I don't want to create a VS here by any means, but I would like to know your argument too before I decide where to spend my money.
Thanks for your help!
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

Try MrMC-lite, it's free but limited in the number of media items you can see. Otherwise, it's the same as MrMC.valthera wrote: 12 Jul 2019, 13:37 Hi all...I got a new apple tv 4K for my birthday from my brother in order to watch my tv shows and movies (mostly 4K HDR) over lan from my PC. If playback looks good to your eyes, done deal.
Most of those talking about raised blacks are purists with calibrated UHD TVs. Odds are you will never notice it.
Note, if you are using a PC as server, make sure you switch to libsmb2 client.

I thought the problem with MrMC was the opposite of raised blacks. Something about the lowest 5% not distinguished from pure black.davilla wrote: 12 Jul 2019, 14:45Try MrMC-lite, it's free but limited in the number of media items you can see.
