I tried several times with fresh new start also.

Should this option be enabled before you add files to your library, or it should not matter?

Just wondering if I could help here debug some more for better result on the new 1.3 version that we will be waiting for...
should not matter. Describe your setup (server, etc)

Hi,

I am using the Apple Time Capsule:
There I created a samba share using the build in function, which I am accessing from MrMC, all devices are on the same workgroup. There is user and password authentication required for this connection.
The IP of this share is the same as the IP of the router itself, the MrMc connects directly to this Time capsule using the same IP base.

Do you need any more details?

Well,

in the airport utility I enabled the File Sharing in the Disks tab, with the option "With a disk password"

like this there is an user "admin" with that password.
I checked the option "Share disks over WAN" set the Workgroup.

my files in MrMc A added searching for samba share providing the user armin and password.

pull mrmc.log.old after a crash. And I assume you mean a real crash... app goes pop and you are back to tvOS home.

Don't know if you can do this with Apple Time capsule servers, but can you disable disk spindown i.e. Keep them spinning. I have a Windows server 2011 setup and have all the disks spinning 24/7. Never had a seek time out or pause when using any devices accessing the server. Just a thought.

Also keeping the disks spinning cuts down on motor fatigue, and before you say it cost more to have them running, it amounts to pennies per year.

All the best, Dave.
