Downloaded VLC, connected to the Plex library over UPnP, and played the exact same movie. Loaded, played, skipped forward and back just fine. Whats the difference here between VLC and MrMC?koying wrote: 26 Feb 2019, 00:24 Heh... Don't forget streaming 4K from Amazon and Netflix is like 25/30 Mbps.
Amazon didn't create the AFTV with streaming full BD in mind![]()

Re: Fire Cube and MRMC choking on 4K movie
lol . You know what i meant. I assume format/codec wise VLC and MrMC are similar? It just doesnt make sense why itd work on the Shield over the Fire Cube if it wasnt just a bandwidth issue. Kodi with PlexKodiConnect has the same issue playing as MrMC.davilla wrote: 26 Feb 2019, 03:08About 1 million lines of source code.thesuffering wrote: 26 Feb 2019, 02:58So, not quite sure its a network issue anymore. Re: Fire Cube and MRMC choking on 4K movie
I noticed while playing this file, all cores are at or near 100%, 1080p files dont exhibit this behavior, A different, lower bitrate 4k file also didnt peg it at 100%. I wish i could say the Fire Cube just isnt able to handle it, but when it works fine in VLC it tells me the Fire Cube can handle it.

Re: Fire Cube and MRMC choking on 4K movie
Is VLC really playing it at 4K ? With HDR ? 10 bit ? So many questions to ask/answer before you can even start comparing playback under VLC to playback under MrMC.thesuffering wrote: 26 Feb 2019, 04:22 I noticed while playing this file, all cores are at or near 100%, 1080p files dont exhibit this behavior, A different, lower bitrate 4k file also didnt peg it at 100%.
