we are currently working on some subtitle issues and the playback issue @dem1ko reported, any other issues with current TF or some major bugs that we should address are welcome here.

Here is debuglog with videotoolbox, will try to make sample if it won't help you.
Yea, going to need a sample. 200MBs or more of 00000.m2ts. It's a transport stream so you can just cut off a chunk from the front.

Very strange rip. It has duplicated time stamps and does not seem to be following the rules for frame re-ordering.

Under OSX, QuickTime Player barfs on it, as does Kodi v18. VLC/MVP play but they are sw decode. SW decode (FFMpeg) under tvOS seems better but still has slight blips.

Shield (mediacodec-surface) shows same as tvOS/FFMpeg, slight blips. And FireTV under same just hangs and dies.

It this the only problematic one or do other BDAV rips from is group have same issue ?

I'm back from my trip and am a little lost on what needs testing here. :?

I did use AVF some last night on my ATV4 and have some thoughts on it

1) AVFoundation struggles with the 20mbps HEVC jellyfish files whereas VTB doesn't. Is that to be expected?

2) I do like that it outputs the color range properly, even though brightness and contrast aren't adjustable.

3) Adjusting audio sync has no effect when using AVF as the decoder. Is that to be expected?

AVFoundation is a WIP :) If does not have all the tweaks that VTB has yet. Very raw right now.

(20171027-e73f9ec)
darwin: fixed crash in AVFoundation codec if CMVideoFormatDescriptionCreateFromH264ParameterSets fails
darwin: changed VideoToolBox decoder to exclude pps changes from triggering a vtb restart
darwin: changed AVFoundation decoder frame rate tracker to perfer dts over pts
player: changed, no need to hammer codec info at frame rates
removed: READ_MULTI_STREAM is silly, most content have more than two streams and READ_MULTI_STREAM only really works with two
player: silence codec skips if format is bypass, skip count > 0 is an artifact on some high frame rate content
darwin: fixed, a/v offset control for AVFoundation decoder
darwin: enable gles fence during video playback
player: fixed possible crash on stop
player: change min a/v offset from 0.25s to 0.05s

last one is just for you, cosmoxl :)

I'm curious, why are you trying to get avfoundation to work when vtb already is working all right?
Are there some special features or am I just slow?

Also, I really miss the time and eta on the osd. (I know it's supposed to be in a different subforum but thought it'd be okay to sneak it in with a tf related question)
