IPTV/URL Redirect Issue

I recently purchased MrMC for my AppleTV's/Nvidia Shield's and discovered that MrMC does not properly handle URL redirects when using the IPTV Simple Client. The problem I'm seeing appears to be related to the following issues and was hoping that someone is actively working on a resolution:
