Are your videos shown in 4K or 1080p ?

Here is a test file to find out whether your videos are shown in 4K or are downscaled/upscaled: 4ktest_red_border_loop.mkv
Look at the highlighted section on your screen.
If the purple text is legible, like:
You have true 4K playback.
If it looks garbled like:
The video was downscaled somewhere in the playback chain.
