Remember that sharing databases between MrMC and Kodi is possible but Kodi has to be 15.2 version. We will try to maintain compatibility as as we go along and when Kodi moves to 16.* databases.
EDIT:
MrMC v1.x is compatible with Kodi 15.* databases.
MrMC v2.x is compatible with Kodi 16.* databases.
