Oh I only get the progress bar for everything with Opacity, regardless of PVR or not. I get the subtitle and settings if I swipe down with Siri or push the down button on an IR remote. The rest of the buttons I don't need anymore so eh.
right, but in live tv/dvr clicking the touchpad brings up the old OSD. however, clicking play/pause does not. I'm thinking they should be the same if possible.

Not possible right now, that would be a core change as the original core behavior was to just bring up the progress bar when clicking play/pause. The only way to get the OSD was to Select click.
Currently, live tv/dvr gets old OSD/progress bar. Binary PVR's are singletons, which means there can only be one inputstream open. For new progress bar, we need two independent inputstreams.

Just noticed that blacks are really pixelated and slightly green. Tried playing the same file via plex app and it looks fine. Seems to be the same in the App Store version too. I’ve never watched a movie via MrMC since getting the Apple TV, always used plex but it was transcoding audio and it sounded really flat so thought I’d give it a try!
Maybe not the best explanation, I can probably take a picture of it though it’s that obvious!

I just watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (4K HDR) and the blacks were black and not pixelated.

Here's plex:
Here's MrMC:
I'm guessing it's some setting on my end, but I haven't changed anything besides switching off Hardware Acceleration because of interlace detection problems with TVHeadend. I've tried turning it back on too and it's the same.
Apple TV settings I have 4k HDR 60hz with match Dynamic Range enable (not match Frame Rate, the constant flashing when switching content drove me insane!)

Third party remote, Opacity, Expert checked or not checked. Hitting down, which is intuitive for Settings and subtitles, starts the video over. That's frustrating. We alway have to remember to hit pause first.

Should be using AVFoundation for HDR. No reason to switch that off for TVH material because interlaced doesn't use hardware decoding anyway.

BTW, I forgot to say yesterday that frame rate switching on the ATV4 with 11.3 beta is working.
