Ahhh yes I keep forgetting MrMC is Kodi Jarvis based which still had AMLcodec. That would solve all deinterlacing issues.
The other requirement for Amcodec to show up in Jarvis was a r/w permission check of /sys/class/display/mode, which in reality is not needed on the Mi Box as it has broken refresh switching anyway.
The MiBox never had the necessary open permissions, and MrMC scratched AMLcodec, anyway.
So AMC it is...

Well that surprising, I would have thought it was the same as the Apple TV 4K that can do YADIF2X with 1080i

3.7 TF has been updated to fix Mibox issues.
