darwin: exclude hevc from midstream sps/pps/vps change checking for VideoToolBox decoder
darwin: enable DVDVideoCodecAVFoundation and add setting for VideoToolBox decoder to include/exclude hevc/hdr content
The 2nd one will be the fun one. DVDVideoCodecAVFoundation can handle displaying HEVC 10Bit HDR content.
Enable it and set VideoToolBox to exclude HEVC 10Bit HDR content and such content will get vectored to DVDVideoCodecAVFoundation for decode.
Suck on that Infuse

MrMC might be the first 3rd party app out that can play and display HDR content.

What settings would I need for it? I went to settings and checked VideoToolBox, Allow HDR, and AVFoundation and the colors were still washed out, so the HDR wasn't being passed. This was with the LG Chess HDR video.

Good work guys. I tested multiple hevc HDR files, I can confirm that HDR works well. Problem is frame rate is dropping and playback is not smooth. Nevertheless, a step in the right direction before anyone else. Thank you.

Disallow HDR under VideoToolBox, this causes HEVC HDR to pass to AVFoundation decoder.
Or uncheck VideoToolBox and check AVFoundation.
The reason for the 1st choice is VideoToolBox is more robust fo h264 handling and all its quirks. So it's better to vector h264 and HVEC SDR to VideoToolBox and let AVFoundation handle HEVC HDR.

email to
[email protected] (or list here) the exact file names of those HDR files that are dropping frames. I can try to find them on usenet. My selection of HDR test files is quite small.

Is it just me, or in the last couple of versions has the skin highlight gotten faint? I can barely see the glow around Movies and Episodes anymore (on the current selection).
Also I posted this earlier this week and my posting appears to be gone... I had 2 skin requests:
- Recently Added and In Progress: when you play something from this screen and then return to it, the focus switches to the TV Shows or Movies section. I think the focus should remain on the movie or TV episode you had played.
- Can the contextual menu be added to the Recently Added and In Progress screen (long press on the remote)

After restarting my router and apple tv, it works fine. I think the issue was my network. Sorry about that.
Now, I can confirm that HDR is working very well without any issues (at least for the files that I tested)

Nothing changed regarding skin highlight. But we will look into it.
