so then your receiver and/or your HDMI cables are not the right specification for 4k. remember you have to use HDMI 2.0a not the old HDMI 1.4a

I now have this problem, we have the exact same set up! oh well new amp I guess........

the old one blew up if the wife asks :lol:

Just a FYI for those looking at new AMPs. If looking at Denon amps, pick 4200 or above. Below the 4200, their amps have issues with dealing with some formats. Denon refused to fix the issue. I know, I recently replaced my long time Denon 1912 with a shiny new 3200 and got hit with this. Formats that are no issue on the 1912 get ignored by the 3200. Grrrrr.

what's the full model name? x4200w? that's $$$$$$ :shock:

edit: x4200w is the current generation. but, the AVRs next level down (starting with 3, 2, 1) are now 3300, 2300, 1300. Last generation they were 3200, 2200, 1200. so maybe the 3300 or 2300 would be fine?

Mine is the Denon AVR-X3200W
