I used X-plore to browse the internal storage of the Shield and found the log in a MrMC temp folder

Sounds like the same thing I observed and reported long ago that HDMV menus don't show for 1080p Blu-Rays in MrMc the way they do in Kodi. This points to some difference in the implementation of libbluray.

Thanks for your insight. However:

-I have some 2160p movies that show a main movie title
-I have some 2160p movies that don't show a main movie title
-I have some 1080p movies that show a main movie title
-I have some 1080p movies that don't show a main movie title

So as far as I'm concerned there is some other root cause.

And I repeat: the movies that don't show a main movie title using MrMC on the Shield, do show a main movie title using MrMC on the Apple TV 4K.

lots of "Connection timed out" errors.

If a movie/menu works, it always works. If a movie/menu does not work, it never works. The root cause is not the network. It is something else.

I can unhook the Shield, and hook up the ATV4K. Then play the exact same movie using MrMC. Then you can compare the logs?

Here are a number of logs. I did tests using MrMC on the Shield and the same tests (same network connection, same movie on the same location) using MrMC on the ATV4K. Here are the results:

please try libdsm (smb1) or libsmb2 (smb2) instead of libsmbclient.
