We tried to get this into v1.4 but it got too crazy and we were afraid of breaking pvr even more.

v1.4 is near last if not last of 1.x series.

We are shifting gears to 2.x series and that will give us a nice sync with core and pvr code. 2.x series also brings back rar, dvd and bluray.

... so schedule recording will work again with 2.0?

yes, thats the ultimate goal...
