h264 content comes in two flavors, bit and byte stream. It defines the organization of information packets in the data stream. Some decoders want bit stream format, some byte stream. MrMC detects the flavor and converts (if needed) to what the hw decoder wants.

h265 content follow the same flavor rules. All mine samples are bit stream flavor. I'm looking for some byte stream flavors to makes sure the translation to bit stream (what videotoolbox wants) is working correctly.

Will be investigating the whole SDR/HDR question once my AppleTV 4K shows up. As the previous version was 1080p SDR only, we never look into about HDR.

Fortunately home early from work today !

BTW, saw someone complaining about having to set a registry key in Win 10 before MrMC saw the contents of a SMB share on his PC. Is this a known issue ?

We haven’t heard that so far but it could be something to do with Win 10 forcing smb2/3 as default on samba shares

Got it. On my old ATV 4 and non 4K tv I could play the h265 4K 10bit Jellyfish. It studders but it continues to play. I'm not sure it could do that in the past.
