smiffy1989 wrote: 26 Jan 2018, 17:43 Just remembered that I still have HW acceleration switched off because of the issue I described here:
https://mrmc.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1562

I tried it with the default HW acceleration options and its the same (and the interlace detection is still a problem too).
set it to deinerlace/half
Ok, set to half. Here's a new log:
https://gist.github.com/anonymous/099f0 ... b9891c3870

First play has HW acceleration enabled, second doesn't, in both cases I'm dropped back to the list of recordings.

Also noticed another issue when trying to check if the interlace detection was working, once you've paused and swiped down to bring up the menu to get into subtitle/video settings, you can't resume playback because clicking to play brings up those settings again with the player controls at the bottom but with the play button missing!

Looks like the interlace detection is definitely still not working too.

DEBUG: AddOnLog: Tvheadend HTSP Client: pvr.hts - vfs close id=2

followed by

ERROR: AddOnLog: Tvheadend HTSP Client: pvr.hts - Command fileRead failed: Invalid file
ERROR: AddOnLog: Tvheadend HTSP Client: pvr.hts - vfs fileRead failed

I wonder if Tvheadend client got confused and closed the wrong file.
Tried with other recordings just in case, seems to do the same thing.

which skin ?

HW acceleration enabled should not matter, all interlaced content is vectored to software decoders.

There's is an issue we need to resolve with binary pvr addons. Digging into the code for tvheadend client suggests that while it does not use global vars, it's a singleton. Which means you don't get a separate instance each time it is opened.

Translated to user speak :), when playing from pvr recordings, the tvheadend pvr client is open and has a single 'file id', then we pause it and open a new inputstream thinking it is independent from the other, but it's not. So the original 'file id' is lost and a new one created. Then when the progress bar drops, it closes the second 'file id' and now dvdplayer is screwed because it can't read anymore because the 1st 'file id' is lost.

recordings made by dvblogic/dvblink but played via plex are working very well now with regard to scrubbing even if the thumbnail can't be generated. Thanks!

The swipe down to bring up subtitles and settings (when paused) is much better now.

so far two thumbs up from me!

Using Opacity.

Ah so I may as well leave HW acceleration disabled anyway in that case, just have to flip it back on for 4K stuff.

I know some coding concepts (I certainly understood the first paragraph without the second!). I’m a solution architect by day so have to know just enough to get by! :)

Sorry but I find this release even worse. Especially in conjunction with TVheadend. When I watch a station and press OK during playback, I was able to see the information in advance. Now TV is paused. Long press the OK button showed me the station list. This feature is unfortunately no longer feasible. I do not know what you thought you did but that's not great :(

Why does the playback need to be paused with OK? But there is the Play / Pause button. I do not like this solution at all. Build an option in which you can choose this.

LOL, so, I'm trying dvblink recordings via the add-on and scrubbing to a different time results in instant crash to tvOS home screen. :) sounds like the same problem you described to smiffy.

pausing by clicking the touchpad on the siri remote is standard for tvOS apps. so, MrMC is just trying to work like all the other apps so new users feel comfortable.

To get progress bar with scrubber, playback MUST be paused.

There will be a setting, OSD the old way, or OSD the new way. The default will be the new way.

We might vector pvr streams to the old OSD way. That is until we can work out issues with binary pvr clients.
